Depression -- anxiety -- relationship problems -- work-related stress - life crisis.
These are the primary reasons people seek therapy. Using a combination of cognitive, interpersonal, and expressive approaches allows you and I to pay attention to thinking and feeling, relationship to self and to others, and to the past as well as the present.

Couples Therapy: Improving communication and intimacy, resolving major disruptions from affairs or addictions, or getting extra support to weather a health crisis or life transition can be addressed in couples therapy. Couples have a higher success rate when they seek theraputic support early in the development of problems.

Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual clients: In the past ten or 15 years, gay identity has been increasingly visible. However, the individual journey to 'come out' to self and then to others continues to be challenging and often stressful. Building and nurturing healthy relationships is made more difficult by the public turmoil. Connection to family may be fractured; security at work may be tenuous; welcome from spiritual communities uncertain. Both formal training and my own life experience add to my skills with GLB clients.

Aging and Adult Children of Aging Parents. For eight years, while building my private practice, I worked in social services at long term care facilities, not only with the residents but with the adult children and sibling groups who were searching for the best possible solutions to parents' concerns. The 'aging family' faces unique challenges and rewards; supportive, well-informed therapy can help.

Clergy and clergy spouses: As a former clergy spouse, I have personal as well as clinical knowledge of the particular dynamics of working for the church and church related non-profits.

Shared interest, short term Groups will be announced. If you would like to be on a mailing list, please contact me.
